Siyabonga (meaning "Thank you") -- one of many children we met in our two weeks at the children's village.

The fourth in a series of journal entries written while in South Africa.
The chill of the morning sky woke most of us up as temperatures overnight dropped to single digits.
Very reluctantly getting out under the warmth of my sleeping bag, I dressed in a hooded sweater somewhat ready to embrace the frigid outdoors.
Except surprisingly, it turns out that it was much warmer outside with the powerful African sun heating up everything in sight.
I strolled down to the visitor's centre for a nice Canadian breakfast that we prepared for ourselves every morning -- eggs, cereal, toast, juice.
Appropriately enough, we got our first visitor that morning -- a boy named Siyabonga (translated "Thank you").
He was just one of many we met that day.
I could tell already we were going to have fun playing and taking care of these kids.
Their ages ranging from a few months to 13 years old, each had their own unique personalities and each had their own story.
We wanted to know them as much as they wanted to know us.
