My departure is imminent. After months of preparation, I'm just hours away from boarding the plane tonight, flying to Johannesburg via London.
To be honest, those months have gone quickly.
It's been swell getting to know the people I'm traveling with as we worked together in preparation for the task at hand.
All our family and friends have helped us tremendously in sending us to South Africa, offering both financial and loving support.
The logisitics of planning such a group trip, which included lengthy email correspondence with the charitable group already situated in Africa, went rather smoothly.
It seems the only thing left to do now is to...leave.
The best part of all of this so far is knowing the best is actually yet to come.
