Santa's already made his way into town, and although we've avoided the snow thus far, I'm more than certain there's some white stuff not to far in the distant future.
The winter's of my childhood were studded with comfort food like tomato soup with grilled cheese sandwiches and cheesy macaroni baked casseroles. What can I say? Being a French girl means you eat cheese often, even if it was only cheddar back then.
These days I like to mix it up a little bit. Cheese is still a staple but it comes in many forms, whether it's a creamy goat's cheese, a smoked gouda or a sharp Grana Padano.
But somethings never change. I still love a good macaroni and cheese, and I'm hoping to try out this suggestion by the Cheese Boutique's in-house chef, Juan Salinas, of former Christine Cushing Live fame, real soon. And if Mac and Cheese, just isn't Mac and Cheese without being orange, check out this recipe, for made-from scratch taste, but a from-the-box familiarity that we all grew up with.
