Even though I'm not planning to travel somewhere afar this year, it doesn't mean you shouldn't.
So to help you out, I ran across an article here that suggests traveling on certain weekends to get the most bang for your buck.
Not surprisingly, the summer months aren't included. But as I've always said, the more flexible you are in scheduling your vacation, the more likely you'll find great deals.
Tip: Book a trip in September if you can.
