Teen facing charges

A teenager faces seven charges after police seized a sawed-off shotgun during the execution of a search warrant in West Hill.

Police said the gun and gang task force and the emergency task force executed the search warrant at an apartment building on Kingston Road near Galloway Road early Monday.

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with possessing a prohibited firearm with ammunition, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possessing a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, careless storage of a firearm, careless storage of ammunition, possessing a firearm obtained by the commission of an offence and possessing a firearm knowing the serial number has been altered, defaced or removed.

The accused can't be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
