Police search for missing North York man

Safety concerns over missing man, 22

Police are growing concerned for the well-being of a missing North York man.

Sergey Primak, 22, was last seen at about 4 p.m. Feb. 27 in the Bathurst Street and Steeles Avenue area.

"He's gone missing many times. It appears that his mental health state is deteriorating," said Det. David James of 32 Division. "One time he walked from here to London, Ontario."

Primak may even resort to eating out of garbage cans and has been known to be out without proper clothes for the weather, police said.

He was reported missing last year and was found in Seattle, Washington.

On that occasion, Primak took a bus to Vancouver and then crossed over the border. When he was talking to immigration, he clammed up and didn't tell them his name. "So they had him in custody out there for a little while, just trying to find out who he was," James said.

James said Primak is not violent "in any way, shape or form."

Primak is white, five-feet eight-inches tall, 160 pounds with long hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue denim pants and brown shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 416-808-3204 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
