Honesty pays

Recently I took a pair of pants into my local dry cleaners (Renforth Mall One Hour Dry Cleaners).

When I went in again to pick them up John Groves, the owner, said to me, "Forgetful aren't you?"

Now, I took a bit of offence at that. I was busy, they weren't there that long and besides, lots of people don't pick up their dry cleaning on time. I was about to remonstrate to that effect when John said to me: "You don't know what I'm talking about do you?"

"No I don't," I replied. John then handed me an envelope.

"What's this?" I replied.

"Open it," he said. I did so and inside was $100 in cash!

I have no recollection of leaving this money in my pants so, needless to say I was flabbergasted. I thanked John profusely and left the store a little red faced but, reassured that in today's doom and gloom climate there exists hope, honesty and genuinely good people. Thank you, John.
