OFSAA silver lining for Emery Collegiate

Lose championship game to top-seeded Ottawa team

VS of Sault Ste. Marie (Anthony Ottley 15).

Emery was the Toronto District School Board's (TDSB) second seed to OFSAA after being edged out by Etobicoke's Martingrove who were seeded fourth in the TDSB championship.

Martingrove made it to the semifinals where they were also ousted by St. Matthew's 57-52.

SINGLE-A OFSAA

North York was also represented at the single-A OFSAA championships in Cornwall.

Both Sir Sandford Fleming and E.S. Etienne-Brule, seeded third and seventh respectively, were ousted in the quarterfinals, Sir Sandford Fleming 65-62 in overtime to 11th-ranked St. Thomas Aquinas (Theo Richards 17, Jermaine Smith 16); ��.S. ��tienne-Br�»l�© 53-40 to fifth-ranked Ashbury College (Julien Blacklock 10).

Fleming won its second-round game 53-48 over ninth-ranked E.S. Paincourt (Jason Atonionkon 19), and its opening-round game 66-56 over 14th-ranked Thorold (Jason Atouloukou 18, Theo Richards 13, Efe Enoyoze 11, Reece Hall 10, Jermaine Smith 6, and Yusuf Ali 6).

Etienne-Brule won its second round game 52-39 over 13th-ranked Central Algoma (Salissou Abdoulkader 18, Kevin Charles 16, Julien Blacklock 15) and lost its opening round game 65-61 to 10th-ranked Waterford in overtime (Salissou Abdoulkader 31, Kevin Charles 8, Souleymane Guindo 5, and Peter Luyeye 5).
