Scheduling adds to traffic woes

Re: 'Looking for solutions to speeding' Article, The Villager, March 13.

As a frequent user of the Swansea 77 bus, I haven't noticed a speeding problem. But several drivers have told me they find it hard to make the run from the Runnymede station to the Queensway and back in the 20 minutes the TTC allows them.

This is because many passengers are elderly or have children in strollers and cannot safely enter or exit quickly and because the new road configuration at the junction of The Queensway and the South Kingsway slows all traffic down, including the buses.

If the TTC would allow 25 or even 22 minutes for the run, that would be a minor inconvenience to me, especially on Sundays when I rely on the bus to get to and from church and only one bus is running. But I'd gladly accept it if it improves safety.
