Etobian takes stage at COC

Etobicoke resident and accomplished opera bass Alain Coulombe is returning to the Canadian Opera Company (COC) for their presentation of Simon Boccanegra.

Coulombe, who graduated from the COC's Ensemble Studio, will play the part of Pietro in the opera, which centres around political intrigue in medieval Italy. His past performances with the COC include The Magic Flute, War and Peace and Don Giovanni. Coulombe has also performed with the Cleveland Opera, The Vancouver Opera and the Michigan Opera Theatre.

His singing and presence on the stage has earned him critical acclaim for a number of his performances.

The opera is in Italian with real-time English super-titles. Eight performances are scheduled between April 11 and May 7 at the Four Seasons Centre, 145 Queen St. W.
