Charges will not be laid after pellet gun found in school locker

Incident led to brief lockdown at Albert Campbell C.I.

No charges will be laid after a gun was found in a school locker, forcing the building into lockdown for about 90 minutes.

The weapon turned out to be a pellet gun.

Police were called to Albert Campbell Collegiate Institute at 1550 Sandhurst Circle shortly before 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 9.

Det. Sgt. Sean Brosnan of 42 Division said there was a suspicious incident involving a student, which led to a locker check and the discovery of the weapon.

The lockdown was lifted at 11:23 a.m.

No one was hurt.

Albert Campbell is one of 28 Toronto schools that has been assigned a school resource officer.
