Centennial College campus locked down after nearby robbery

One man arrested, second suspect sought by police

Centennial College's Carlaw Avenue campus was locked down for about 40 minutes Wednesday evening following an armed robbery on nearby Pape Avenue.

Det. Sgt. Al Haunts of 54 Division said two men, aged 24 and 29, were robbed by two other men at about 7 p.m.

"One man has been arrested," Haunts said.

"The second male made good his escape, and he was believed to be armed with a handgun although no shots were fired."

The 24-year-old victim received minor injuries in a scuffle during the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call 54 Division at 416-808-5400.
