NORTH YORK: Site of propane explosion released

The Ontario Fire Marshal released the scene at 54 Murray Rd. near Keele Street and Wilson Avenue back to the property owners Monday, Sept. 22 after completing its on-site investigation at the site of the massive Aug. 10 propane explosion.

All reasonable steps have been taken to remove any fire and explosion hazards, said a statement released by the Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM).

The Ministry of Environment has ordered the property owner and Sunrise Propane to take control of site security and monitoring immediately to ensure the continued safety of the community.

The OFM investigation is on-going with a significant number of items taken from the scene still being examined. No new information is currently available on the investigation.
