Police have arrested an 18-year-old in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Boris Cikovic.
Nahoor Araya was taken into police custody Wednesday night after an arrest warrant was issued earlier that day for the man, who is charged with second degree murder.
Cikovic was shot Oct. 3 around 10:40 p.m. at Buttonwood Park near Eglinton Avenue West and Royal York Road.
Police said he was with a group of friends when they were approached by three strangers.
Cikovic was shot in the abdomen and later pronounced dead in hospital.
Detectives learned Cikovic was in possession of a stun gun at the time of the shooting.
Investigators believe Cikovic drew the weapon after having a gun pointed at him. Cikovic is Toronto’s 53rd homicide this year.
