St. Clements speedster with Canadian team at junior worlds

Tamara Jewett closed off her high school career with a gold medal in the 3000 metres at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Association track and field championships, held in Hamilton last month just prior to the end of the school year.

And now she is taking on the rest of the world, over the 3000m distance, having been selected to the Canadian junior team, which is currently competing at the world junior championships, which wrap up Sunday, July 13 in Poland.

Jewett completed her Grade 12 year at St. Clements private school, which is off Yonge Street, just north of Eglinton Avenue.

She also earned a silver medal in the 1500m event at OFSAA.
