We bought a push lawnmower from Lee Valley so we wouldn't add to the noise of an otherwise peaceful and friendly community. My husband wheeled the mower out to the front yard, ready to cut our little patch of green, got distracted trimming some shrubs and ended up in the back yard. By the time he'd worked his way back to the front, the lawn mower had escaped. It was parked right on our front lawn, and now it wasn't.
I'd like to think that some neighbour thought we'd put it out for garbage (a brand new lawnmower!?) and decided to give it a new home (without even asking?!) but it wasn't garbage day. Perhaps someone wanted to take it out for a test drive before buying one of their own?
I don't want to think that someone actually stole it. So I'm asking, if you happen to see a brand new green Lee Valley push lawnmower, to please return it to its rightful home on Third Street.
Many thanks, your new neighbour,
Maria Coletta McLean
