Most animals in Ontario's roadside zoos live in cramped, barren cages, wallowing in their own urine and feces and are fed rotten food scraps and filthy water.
The deplorable conditions at these roadside zoos demand a stronger response from officials than lip service. Since the government continues to drag its feet on strengthening animal protection laws, it's up to the public to help animals by refusing to patronize zoos and menageries.
