A 16-year-old boy is recovering after being shot in the chest at 200 Brenyon Way near Neilson and Sewells roads Thursday, Sept. 4, night.

"There was a dispute between the victim and some other parties," said Det. Sgt. Sean Brosnan of 42 Division. "They went their own separate ways for a while. And then one of them returned and shot he victim."

A local resident found the wounded teen in a grassy area and called police around 9 p.m.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre via an emergency run.

"He's going to be OK. It's non-life-threatening injuries," Brosnan said.

Meanwhile, police are looking for three to five males in connection with a shooting Wednesday night outside an apartment building at 85 Silver Springs Blvd. northeast of Finch Avenue and Birchmount Road.

The suspects, one armed with a gun, approached a 19-year-old man from behind at about 11:25 p.m. "The victim ran but was shot in the back," said Det. D. Rose, also of 42 Division.

Paramedics took the victim to Sunnybrook with serious injuries. He is expected to survive.

The suspects fled the scene. One is black and about 25 years old and wore dark clothing, a baseball cap and a red bandana. There are vague descriptions of the others.

Anyone with information about either shooting should call 42 Division at 416-808-4200 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
