Re: 'Do something about councillor's words,' Letters, March 21.

Regarding the letter by Victoria Shen, the Chinese Canadian National Council co-president, Toronto Chapter.

It seems to me that every time this organization can pick up a line or two in a newspaper regarding the terrible time Chinese-Canadian people are going through, they jump at it.

Ward 2 (Etobicoke North) Councillor Rob Ford made a mistake, a simple slip of tongue that anyone could have made. If this remark about using the word "Oriental" in place of "Asian" offended anyone, well that's too bad. He apologized on several occasions and short of a public hanging, get over it - it's not the end of the world. Ford is one of the few honest, hard-working councillors who can still look at himself in the mirror at the end of the day.

Shen should find another scapegoat to crow about because most Canadians aren't buying into this.
