Woman on scooter fighting for life

A woman is fighting for her life in hospital after she was struck late this morning in east Mississauga while riding her scooter.
Peel Regional Police say the woman was hit by a car as she tried to cross the road at Bloor St. and Tomken Rd. just after 11 a.m.
Police say the woman suffered a compound fracture and that her condition quickly deteriorated. She was rushed to hospital by Peel Paramedics, and is in critical condition.
The driver of the car has been interviewed by police, who say it's too early to determine whether charges will be laid.
Police have closed the area to traffic as the investigation continues.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 905-453-2121, ext. 3710.
