The Museums of Mississauga are presenting a new exhibit at the Bradley Museum that highlights the city's agricultural past.
Until December, residents can view History Salvaged: The O’Neil Farm, Erindale. It's an intimate look at the life of apple farmer Hugh O’Neil, one of Mississauga’s last apple farmers who died at the age of 93 in 2006.
The exhibit helps celebrate a way of life now gone by piecing together O’Neil's story and shedding light on an interesting aspect of Mississauga’s agricultural past.
As part of the display, historian Alan Skeoch presents his thoughts about Hugh and the farm shortly before it was demolished in 2008.
The exhibit also displays items salvaged from the property along with historic images loaned by family and friends, which help to explore a century of life on the O’Neil farm.
There is no charge to view the exhibit at the museum from Monday to Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The Bradley Museum is located at 1620 Orr Rd.
