To all the mothers to be ... new mommies and not so new, too, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Samantha Montpetit-Huynh and I am a fellow mother of two, struggling with each new day trying to manage my home, my kids and my sanity. Because I can empathize with a lot of you out there, I would like to offer some help and try to make your days and nights a little less stressful.

I am a certified personal trainer with a specialty in pre- and postnatal fitness.

After having my daughter almost six years ago and being a fitness enthusiast most of my life, I, like so many other moms, decided to change my career to something I actually enjoyed and was "passionate" about.

So I found myself back in night school with a baby, a full-time job and no time for anything else. But after two years and a second pregnancy, I launched my own company doing something I love and sharing my knowledge with other women every day.

Pregnancy and parenting is, by far, the most exciting, exhausting and hardest thing a woman can do and the physical demands it makes on your body can be overwhelming for many.

In my new column I invite any and all questions regarding exercise during pregnancy and postpartum.

I will try my best to answer each and every one as women need to know how important physical activity is in maintaining overall strength and well-being. Studies have shown that exercise during pregnancy also helps baby endure the stresses of labour and delivery. The benefits are endless.....

So I would love to share my many experiences and expertise to help educate the many women out there who panic, especially during their first pregnancy, about what they can and cannot do. On the other hand, I am not a doctor and don't pretend to be. I am just a mom, like the rest of you, who has made a commitment to helping women embrace their bodies and not be afraid. Pregnancy is not an illness. It's just another cycle in life.
